Being clear is important!
In the last couple of days, I heard the word ‘doughnut’ three times at work!
This person-centred thinking tool is a favourite of ours as it can be used in a variety of situations. This week, our Working Together for Change team were using the tool to clarify the role of support staff in their team. They mapped out what support staff could assist with, when they could use their creativity and where their input was not required. This work really gave clarity to the whole team.
The next day I noticed a couple of people using the doughnut to revise a role that was originally co-created using the donut a couple of years ago. They were working out how sharing the role may work.
Finally, I heard some asking if they could have a ‘doughnut’ coaching session to help them gain clarity around their responsibility in a particular situation.
