We all know change is inevitable. Sometimes we are open to it and other times it is disruptive. The one consistent thing about change is that it opens the door to creativity.
“The past is past, and the future is yet to come. That means the future is in your hands – the future entirely depends on the present. That realization gives you a great responsibility.” ~ Dalai Lama XIV
In conversations with organizations, we are hearing a lot of wishing we could “get back to normal”, but why go back? The global changes we have recently experienced have been a reminder that all things are possible. Where are we now? What is the present? What do we see for the future?
We have an abundance of knowledge from our learning experiences of the past. We don’t want to lose the positives, so identify them and maintain or enhance them. We want to also identify the areas for growth and create positive change moving forward; change that creates a positive difference for people – individuals, teams and organizations.
Rather than focussing on what was let’s work together to imagine the possibilities, ensuring our intentions are to create positive change and invent a new way forward. Having said that, we can’t stop there. We are ever evolving in all of our roles; let’s not settle into “normal”, let’s embrace our responsibility to create a future based on the present.
